Don't TALK to me about green hair - I can't wash my hair in Kilkenny at all - goes green straight away. I wash my hair in my parents or in Dublin - never in KK now...however Kieran O'Gorman recommended Bain de Force by Kerastase to build up the hair follicle to stop the lime getting in or something like that and it totally worked. Brilliant stuff.

Recently tried out a new salon in town...as soon as i walked in the door the colourist and stylist were just short of strapping me into a guerney and hooking me up to a drip...it was like hair E.R. Basically I was told my hair was coated in LIME probably due to me living in a hard water area and was GREEN. ( I didn't know it was green and am still disappointed my mates allowed me to wander around like a troll for months!) I have blonde hair and after around 8 year's of highlights it is pretty over-processed. I had noticed it dulling somewhat recently. I was told we had to SAVE the hair otherwise I would have to go brown! HELP. The colourist was great and suggested deep cleansing shampoos combined with moisturising hair masks that could help. (i.e....Put away the defribillator Sheila). Just in case anyone is having similar issues..I am aware that you can buy water filters to sort out yer hard water problems, having discussed the issue with friends I learned that some girls only wash their hair in bottled water! I did some googling and found that if you plaster your hair with ketchup and leave this to soak in for 15 mins and rinse - apparently the vingear and acidic ingredients will remove the green from the hair. Tried it this morning and it actually worked! Shame I ended up smelling like a chipper for the rest of the day though.... If anyone knows of any other longer term (less ridiculous solutions) or has come across the problem before please let me know! Thanks!

Mad Men is brill. I think you can watch up to Series 3 on RTE iplayer?? Love the style and look of the show. January Jones (Betty) and Christina Hendricks (Joan) are stunnng. Jon Hamm as Don Draper is a bit o alright too! Am into Season two at the moment - loved the twist with Peggy at the end of Season 1.They have to stop making smoking look so damn cool though! Am trying to give up. I think the latest Season just started in the U.S- hope they keep it comin!

Well I did it, coverin 112 miles with a cycling time of nine and a half hours. It was tough though, really tough. And you know the hills weren't even the hardest, there was a long straight between Sneem and Kenmare, which was where I totally hit my wall. Over 5000 cyclists took part, so there was plenty of craic around the route. It was organised so well, the food stops were really well stocked, and physio's were also available too, their healing hands were a lifesaver!!! I've had a marvellous sense of achievement following me around since Saturday. So if any of you are thinking of starting training for an event from scratch, as in from a zero level of fitness - DO IT! It'll be one of the best things you'll ever do!

GOOOOOOOOOD LUCK XXXX! I know it might be a tad too late but if you want one more piece of advice: ELECTROLYTES! you can get them in sachet or tablet form. itll just give you that extra pep before the race cos youll be losing so much(vitamins, minerals, amino acids, salt, water)
